A mineral processing plant or integrated steel plant is as good as the equipment functioning round the clock in its premises to keep the raw matrials flowing and the important processes from facing a delay. If the crusher and feeder are the heart of the plant, the screens and other seperation media, the liver and kidneys, then the conveyors and transfer chutes are the arteries and veins, which need to be maintained and improved from time to time.
So how do we improve the conveyance method? Simple; focus on the chutes, the true culprits behind any conveyance related problems. A conveyor can be improved, by using a proper belt, good quality idlers, impact pads at places of requirement, belt sway controllers, scrapers etc. But the major issue, spillage, can only be controlled by improving a chute.
A transfer chute on the other hand, handles the material behaviour and matches the material speed between the feed & discharge conveyors. The material trajectory which defines the loading profile on the conveyor belt, if controlled, would never lead to spillage.
The transfer chute, as a transition zone has a very vital role to play, yet is the most ignored equipment in a plant.
At BMHequip, we know that achieving the yearly quota of production at the expense of over consumption of raw material and manual labour is not what is defined as efficiency. To tackle the problem at its root is what we believe should be done. Hence, we redesign these chutes to completely remove spillage and require minimal attention in terms of maintenance.
