Crushers, as the name sounds, are equipment for size reduction with the primary focus of crushing ROM material that generally range between 600 mm to 1000 mm or more, depending upon the parameters of the mining technique used.
A jaw crusher is primarily used in primary or secondary crushing zones, with the working principle being the reciprocation motion of one of its movable jaws compressing the material, with the jaw at an angle that only allows smaller sized material pass through, when the ROM is fed from top.
The major advantages of this kind of crushers is that these are fairly simple and easier to maintain, compared to other type. The crusher takes very less space and can be called efficient looking at its output and next to no Carbon footprint.
The jaw crusher performs efficiently when it is choke-fed(when it is filled up to its brim) and is comparitively better than other crushers when its handling viscous and high moisture containing material as the mechanism remains intact owing to the reciprocating motion and the taper down design of the feeding mouth.
